Heard Amazon Student

0

If you’re a student or due to become one then Amazon Student may well be of interest to you. It’s a membership programme for higher education students studying in the UK, which grants you 6 months of free one-day delivery, student only offers, discount express and evening delivery and once you convert to Prime – unlimited streaming via Prime Instant Video and a Kindle book to borrow each month from the Kindle Owners’ Lending Library.

Yes, yes basically it’s a 6 month trial of part of the Amazon Prime service, which does raise some eyebrows but the fact that after the 6 months you can opt out completely or take up the opportunity to fully subscribe to the seriously useful Amazon Prime for £39, half the usual price, makes it pretty cool. You’ll need a student email address ending in ac.uk, along with details of your course and expected graduation date to qualify. If you don’t have an email address you may present a tuition fee payment invoice, a student status letter or official acceptance letter for an upcoming term. If you’re a student who uses Amazon a lot then signing up to the free part of this makes a lot of sense. However if you’re wary about committing to Prime even at half price I’d mark the 6 months date in your diary and a reminder the week before to make sure you cancel.
