Organise With Blackboard Drawers

0

Okay, maybe blackboard drawers didn’t save my life but they do save my sanity. Here at A Thrifty Mrs sanity and life are very much interchangeable. If the stuff I own doesn’t have a very specific home or place to live then it just ends up cluttering up my dining table, bookshelves or kitchen counter tops and I’ll have a full on straight legged strop. It’s not pretty.

Enter these Ikea mini drawers called Moppe. We’ve been buying them and their earlier versions for about 5 years (and they were considerably cheaper when we started buying them. We now have 10 sets throughout our flat which help us to keep things neatly stored away and easy to locate, we like to make life easy for ourselves. I’ve given each drawer a quick lick of blackboard paint, which you can pick up in most DIY or craft shops (a small tin goes a long way – I’ve had mine for 3 years) and I’ve scrawled a handwritten label across the front in chalk pen (which I bought on eBay) so we don’t have to search through every single drawer to find what we’re looking for.

I couldn’t be without them because I just know all of this stuff would be littering surfaces or shoved, amshackled into two big drawers and we’d spend forever searching for one thing or another. Which would lead to me rolling around on the floor screeching like a four year old because that’s how much tolerance I have for not being able to find things straight away.
