Youth to the People Cleanser

El cleansers are not well-respected. They are well-known for giving your skin a deep cleanse. However, they can also dry and leave your skin feeling dry and tight.

What it does and who it’s for

Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser removes dirt, oil, and makeup without irritating or drying your skin.

This was the first product that brand founders had in mind before launching it in 2015. It’s still their top-selling product to this day. “This cleanser does a great job cleaning the skin and removing makeup. It’s pH balanced,” Joe Cloyes, co-founder, said in an interview with Style. It’s a gel formulation, but it doesn’t strip the skin. [1]

It is also vegan and full of superfoods rich in antioxidants. This is why it has been called a “green juice cleanse” for your skin.

This cleanser is not only suitable for oily skin, unlike many gels. Youth To The People products can be used by anyone, as they are suitable for all skin types and ages.

These are the main ingredients of the Youth To The People Cleanser.

  • Gentle surfactants: This cleanses with gentle, natural cleansing agents.
  • Aloe Vera: The aloe vera juice is both hydrating as well as soothing.
  • Kale Cold-pressed kale extract is just like a green smoothie. It’s rich in vitamins C and E, as well as vitamin K.
  • Spinach Although not commonly used in skincare, it is believed to have soothing, conditioning, and cooling properties.
  • Green Tea: Although green tea is best known for its antioxidant properties, it’s also anti-inflammatory as well as antimicrobial.
  • Vitamins Other than the naturally occurring vitamins in superfoods, there are vitamin C (THD Ascorbate), provitamin B5(panthenol), and vitamin E (for fighting free radicals).
  • Glycerin This humectant is hardworking and helps to draw in hydration.

Ratings and Results

What have my results been with this face wash?

So, now I am on my second 8 oz. I am on my second 8 oz. bottle, if that’s any indication. Because I am constantly trying out cleansers to write about them here, it is rare that I finish one. However, the Youth To The People Cleanser is one that I keep coming back to.

It softens and cleans my skin without making it feel dry or uncomfortable. Some cleansers make my skin so dry and tight that I need to rush to apply moisturizer. This one is different. I can wash my face then apply the next steps to my routine. (And you all know that I have many steps! )

Keep in mind that my skin is combination-ish. It has normal cheeks but is oilier around the T-zone. Blume or First Aid Beauty is great for dry skin.

The added vitamins and superfoods are not worth it. It only stays on the skin for about one minute before rinsing off. If you want to brighten your skin or provide antioxidant benefits, it’s better to use a separate vitamin-C serum.

Even though they are more marketing-oriented, the cleanser is still a great value. It’s less expensive than Drunk Elephant, Indie Lee and Glow Recipe on a per-ounce basis. This is even more true if you get the 16-oz. supersize!

These are why I rate the Youth to The People Cleanser 4 out of 5 stars.
