A quick burst of perfume is a welcome pop of happiness, which I’d be sad to do without. However big name prices aren’t always budget friendly so it’s great to find The Body Shop do a decent range of perfumes at a good price. I love their basic Eau de toilettes (they also sell eau de parfam, perfume oils, solid perfume and lots of other fragrance products but my preference is for the eau de toilette) priced at £8,50 and no, they’re not paying me to say that. I just think it’s worth a heads up to let you know I think these products are great value for money. They come in a vast range of scents with a 30ml bottle costing £8.50 – they also sell larger size bottles of certain scents too. I always, always, always wait until The Body Shop have some kind of sale running – which seems to be every other week, to try a new scent or to top up my favourites.
My skin is quite tough going on scents and cosmetics in general so lasting power of even the most lingering perfume is halved, nay quartered when I wear it. The Body Shop perfumes stand up to the more expensive ‘designer’ names at least in length of wear on my skin. Their fruity scents last a little less time than their nutty or floral scents but for that price I can have it in my bag to top up if I’m turning day into night. Cheap perfumes often tend to have an over-powering alchohol smell but these do not and nor do they strip the area of skin you apply the fragrance to. A little goes a long way and for the most part I can happily apply at 8.30am and still smell the scent on myself at around 3pm whilst other people can detect it until about 5pm. Happy days! My favourites are Shea Eau de Toilette which is light and subtle but utterly delicious, Coconut Eau de Toilette with its amazing tropical scent and their delicious strawberry version which I’ve just finished up after months of almost daily wear. If you’re on a tight budget but want to wear a fragrance without breaking the bank these are certainly a bargain option.
