Primark Perfume Review

Primark Perfume Review

Never afraid to try the cheapest of cheap products in the hope of a lovely, budget friendly gem this time I’m stepping up to try out Primark perfumes. My nearest Primark is a huge behemoth of a place which has a fairly vast beauty area similar to the men’s section in most other branches, so after a poke round I came across their perfume range and came away with 4 scents in rollerball bottles. These scents do also come in larger bottles but I thought it best to stick with the cheaper end and not totally scorch my purse for the sake of research.

Pink Me Up

I thought I’d hate this. I’m fairly girly but y’know I’m not a girlie-girl with a pink obsession and a Barbie collection.
“A candylicious blend of sweet lemon and rose on a base of musk” isn’t as twee and teen as it sounds. It has a very definite air of Dolce & Gabbana’s Light Blue and whilst the scent doesn’t last for hours, a small rollerball is a great addition to a handbag in place of an expensive fragrance.

With no description on this packaging this clean smelling scent gives off more than a hint of Paco Rabbane’s Lady Million, with an obvious nod toward Marc Jacob’s Dot in the packaging arena. This is my favourite of the four and has taken up permanent residence in my handbag. It lasts around 3-4 hours on my skin but doesn’t fade to an acrid, burnt lemon and cat piss scent when fading, like so many cheap fragrances tend to.

P.S. Love

“Surround yourself with love and lace…intimate and sensual floral notes of yang ylanf and fresh jasmine are surrounded by succulent peach accords. The scent of pure femininity!”, this fragrance isn’t my kind of thing not just because the description made me want to claw my own eyes out, but it doesn’t smell bad by any stretch of the imagination. It is light and sweet with just a hint of musk to round it out.

Midnight Kiss

My friend Anna tells me this is a great dupes for Paco Rabbane Black XS for Her and she is happy to switch to this fragrance once her original runs out. For me this scent is fairly strong upon first application but it soon dissipates to become quite a pleasant, musky wear.

These scents are all fairly sweet to start with and this won’t be to everyones taste but when left to dry many of them develop muskier and deeper tones. They’re not the most complicated and deep fragrances available however they are fantastic to have in your handbag, especially if you’re like me and end up losing half your belongings in the taxi after a night out.
