Butt Lift Recovery: A Week-by-Week Timeline

0

According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, more than 218,000 butt lift procedures were performed in the United States in 2020. This number is expected to rise in the wake of the pandemic.

According to a Vogue article, “It’s the shapely demi-derms of celebrities like Beyonce or Kardashian West…that inspires women and men alike to get under the needle.” While the final outcome is what should be the main focus of a butt lift treatment in markham, it is important to understand the recovery process.

Your results will be affected by how you take care of yourself after surgery. Don’t rush the healing process. When you return to work, take the time you need and make sure you have the right equipment such as an booty cushion or an inflatable donut. A healthy diet is low in sugar, salt, and fat. You should also avoid smoking and alcohol. For at least eight weeks, avoid sitting directly on your buttocks. To relieve pressure and get optimal results, use a pillow.

Instantly Immediately

Before your surgery, you will need to appoint a caregiver. You can ask a family member or friend to be your caretaker and drive you home after the procedure. They will also help around the house for several days. You may experience swelling, soreness, and bruising immediately after the procedure. You may feel numb for a while. Tell your surgeon if you feel in pain so they can prescribe medication for the discomfort. You can alternate between taking short walks and resting when you get home. This is important to reduce swelling and improve circulation. Your surgeon will provide detailed instructions about how to take care of your body during rehabilitation.

Do not put pressure on your buttocks. It is best to sleep on your stomach or side. If you have to sit down, you can use a donut pillow or a booty pillow. If you need to sit down, ensure that your pressure is not on your posterior thighs. This will prevent the grafted fat from being affected.

Week 1

Your surgeon will advise you to wear a compression suit for areas that have had liposuction. This will reduce swelling and fluid retention. According to the ASPS, it can reduce discomfort and help the skin retract. Keep the pressure off your butt by using the booty pillow. You may be asked by your surgeon to schedule a follow up visit to check on healing. To speed up healing and reduce scar tissue, lymphatic massage can be helpful.

Week 2 to 3

The tenderness and pain should disappear quickly. You may still experience some swelling. You should avoid sitting unless you have a booty pillow. Talk to your surgeon about whether you are allowed to drive. Do not lift heavy objects and instead, continue to walk.

Week 4 – 5

You can take longer walks and return to light exercise during weeks 4-5. Do not lift any heavy weights. You might also be able to return to your regular household chores. It is possible that you may feel some tenderness or slight pain. If you feel severe discomfort, contact your surgeon immediately.

Week Six

Most patients shouldn’t feel any discomfort or soreness. Your surgeon may allow you to return to lower body exercise if your recovery is progressing well. You should be able see the results of your fat grafts and liposuction by week six. You should be aware that 40 percent of the fat transferred may not survive, regardless how well you take care of it.

This is not a complete healing timeline. Everybody is unique. Your individual recovery can be affected by factors such as your age, health, or medical history. For more information, consult your surgeon.
