Remember last week when I wrote about not being a natural born breakfast eater? (If you don’t you can read that post here) Well it might not be natural instinct just yet but I’m getting there, I’ve enjoyed breakfast for the past week thanks to Alpro. Alpro sent me some on their soya yoghurts, toppings, some bowls and goodies to challenge me to try different toppings for their yoghurts for a week. I’ll be honest and say the thought of fiddling around with berries after dragging myself down the stairs from bed made me wince a little but I actually enjoyed coming up with simple ideas and maybe even styling them with blogger clichés of pretty bowls and overhead photos.
- Lemon and Lime Alpro with pistachios, flax seeds and raspberries.
- Oats soaked overnight in strawberry and rhubarb Alpro with mixed seeds.
- Plain Alpro with chia seeds, mulberries and cranberries.
- Plain Alpro on the side of grapefruit with almonds and mulberries.
Weetabix with both plain and lemon and lime yoghurt with cranberries, shredded coconut and raw cacao nibs. My favourite flavour of the three I was sent had to be the lemon and lime – I’m a citrus kinda gal and I loved having nuts with just about any flavour. Stop sniggering. I found Lidl sell huge bags of nuts for pretty low prices so I think yoghurt with nuts will definitely become a regular feature for my breakfasts because they filled me up without fuss. I know it’s old wisdom and not exactly revolutionary that breakfast really helps you through the day but I think that I can do it without eating the same boring thing every day really helps me. I’m excited to try more yoghurt-y ideas, so please share yours below! You can find out more about Alpro Tops here. I’d like to thank Alpro for asking me to try out the #AlproTops challenge, I really enjoyed it!
