I’ve been out and about finding some of the best budget Christmas gifts around. Sometimes the cheap end can look a bit naff, so I’ve searched out useful, beautiful and easily accessible gifts which your recipients should love. All of these gifts are under £20 with the majority under £5!
This dinky little frame is perfect for an Instagram fan and it only comes in at £1! In isolation looks just like something you might get in a trinket-y little gift shop.
90’s TV Trivia*
Got a telly-addict as a friend or just someone brought up in the best decade ever?
This sweet little sewing kit is billed as a travel sewing kit but I think it would also be fantastic for anyone who wants to learn to sew. It has all of the essential kit and is beautifully packaged. I’ll be giving this to a friend along with this £1.99 heart shaped button tin (from B&M), some vintage cotton reels (you can pick these up for pence in most charity shops – it is worth asking if they have sewing or knitting products as many refuse to keep them on the shop floor) and a vintage guide to sewing which I picked up at a bootsale for 25p.
Sweet Rose Bath Collection*
£3.99 Home Bargains
This really sweet smelling bath collection is a great visual dupe for brands like Soap and Glory and the product itself is really nourishing and soft.
Bike Wall Art
This framed cycling print brings a touch of retro to the home of a bike loving, cycling fanatic. I love that it is ready printed which makes to place piece of art.
Nails Inc Gel Effect Polish
Was £14 now £11 here
I was given this nail polish at a blogging event earlier in the year and since then I’ve been out to buy it as a gift for almost every woman I know. This stuff is uh-mazing, seriously. The price made me wince at first but actually it’s worth every penny. It goes on like a dream and on my nails stays put for (without a single chip) 14+ days!
MUA Eye And Lip Trios
£2.50 each here
These are great fun for anyone experimenting with make up and up for trying out new colours. I’ll be combining a couple of these with some ELF make up brushes for the make up mad daughter of a close family friend.
If you know someone who likes a bit of kitsch or you have a child bounding around at home this could be the perfect gift. It’s sweet, fun and useful and it creates a really cosy glow but quick warning – if you have a small, male dog he may try to hump it.
Nordic Pattern Hot Water Bottle*
Home Bargains £2.99
Surely there is not one person alive who doesn’t want nor need a hot water bottle for Christmas? This cute little hot water bottle has a lovely festive themed cover which is not only beautiful but soft enough to make snuggling up to it the perfect end to any cold day.
Gingerbread Little Bear Soap*
This teddy bear shaped soap delivers a subtle gingerbread scent which actually gets better with time. Just look at that little ginger-y face!
Au Lait soap in a tin*
This deliciously delicate milk soap is a beautiful gift. It leaves your hands and body softer that you could ever imagine and the scent is subtle, gentle and squeaky clean without smelling over processed and feeling like it might strip your skin off. Plus the tin packaging is not only adorable but super useful. I use this little tin to pack my jewellery when I go away.
MP3 Ear Muffs
Home Bargains £4.99
The best invention ever, maybe. These cosy ear muffs have built in headphones making listening to music on the go blissfully warm and snug.
iPower Station For iPod And iPhone*
This little gadget provides you with an extra charge for your iPhone when you’re out and about. It’s a tiny little guy so it is easy to slip into your coat pocket or handbag.
Spiced Apple Pamper Tin*
Never in my life have I ever smelt something so beautifully Christmassy scented and best yet it doesn’t smell synthetic like a cheap air freshener. This tin contains 75ml each of Spiced Apple Body Butter and Spiced Apple Body Wash along with two Spiced Apple soaps. I have to say this is one of my favourite ever scents, it has a real luxury air to it and is so warming. A little goes a long way with these products so this gift should last the recipient a really long time.
Lacura Q10 Renew Multi Intensive Serum
This stuff is frankly amazing. I’ve been using it for the past month or so (full review to come) and it has made a significant difference to the first signs of ageing on my skin. Slip a bottle of this to everyone you know! It’s lovely.
Eyelure Naturalites Natural Texture False Eyelashes
These are the best false eyelashes I have ever tried. The go on easily and stay put for 12+ hours and if they’re removed properly they’re easy to apply again and again. I’d be chuffed to bits to receive some of these on Christmas morning.
Lumiere Glitter Nails*

This lovely little nail art set comes complete with everything you need to create a suitably festive-snowy look and will go down a storm with anyone who loves a spot of glitter or nail art.
5 in1 Photo Frame
Filled with personal and meaningful photos this lovely frame could be such a touching gift – plus this frame looks extraordinarily like much more expensive frames (around £30-40) but comes in at under £2! I recommend getting prints via Photobox or Snapfish – for the latter use code 50XMAS13 for 50% off everything until 15/12/13.
This magic notebook combines the written world and the digital world by allowing your to capture your pages and upload them to Evernote via your tablet or smart phone. The quality of is amazing and the ability to digitally index the images and notes is super useful.
Love London Notepad
One of the most useful notepads I have ever owned. It’s the perfect size for slinging into a handbag but with lots of extra pages and the paper is of great quality too. Perfect for a friend who likes to scrawl on the go. Always remember you can often make cheap items look a lot lovelier (and more expensive!) by removing from plastic packaging or peeling off any crappy looking stickers. If in doubt peel away the surroundings and present only the gem in the middle.
