Recommended: Aldi’s Lacura Pro-Vital Hand Cream – 75p

Shall we dive straight it in? Aldi’s Lacura Pro-Vital Hand Cream has blown me away and it only costs 75p for 100ml, naturally I had to tell you all about it and herd you away from those expensive potions. I’ve been a bit slack on looking after my poor old hands for the past couple of years or so and they’ve taken a bit of a battering and become a tad dry and worn looking.

Over the past year I’ve been on the quest to find a hand cream to suit me and whilst I’ve found some lovely creams, most of them are unrealistically priced for my budget. I’m genuinely impressed by most everything Aldi sell but this hand cream is out there at the front, like Usain Bolt, winning the race by miles. Lacura’s Pro-Vital hand cream is, according to Aldi, a ‘moisturising hand cream with UV filters, Beeswax and Vitamin E’ and is designed to ‘soften and smooth the skin giving a younger, fresher appearance’ and whilst I wasn’t aiming to de-wrinkle my hands or anything of the sort I can definitely attest to the fact my hands look fresher and less sallow.

This hand cream hasn’t suddenly given me the hands of a five year old child (how creepy is the image of a fat 30 year old woman with the hands of a tiny school child?) but after one use my hands felt and looked a lot better. With a couple of days use (twice a day) my hands retained softness between use and after a month of using this cream my hands feel soft, supple and less prone to cracks, dry patches between my fingers or broken skin around my nails all of which were common previously. The product comes out of the tube as a thick cream but feels light and rubs in quickly without leaving grease or residue. Whilst there is a detectable fragrance it is light and does not linger or overwhelm – strong fragrances can really put me off an otherwise perfect product and the cheaper end tend to shove in a very heavy scent so I’m very pleased to report this isn’t the case – hurrah! The only problem I have with this product is the cap can be really, really hard to close and takes a bit of force. I can overlook this and allow it to become a staple product in my life.
