Bonjour you beautiful thing! Want to know more? Well sure you do!
I'm A Thrifty Mrs and I'm a charity shop-aholic (can I get a chorus of 'Hi A Thrifty Mrs' in sing song voices?).
I managed to get myself into a considerable amount of debt as a student and struggled with the repercussions throughout my twenties. My husband and I decided to embrace a thrifty lifestyle and have found we're highly suited to it and love sharing our money saving tips and tricks.
I started A Thrifty Mrs in 2008 after our first year of marriage, writing mainly about charity shop finds but the blog has slowly morphed into a general thrifty lifestyle blog giving money saving advice on housework, fashion, shopping, food, beauty and just about everything else.
When I'm not blogging I work for a national broadcaster as a journalist. I also work occasionally as a voice over artist, you may hear me chattering over the top of adverts for the lofty likes of wart cream or erm stairlifts (?), be excited folks, be very excited. I've had a squillion and one previous jobs ranging from radio producer/content editor, copy editor, SEO type, personal shopper, barmaid, chamber maid and even the finest sausage maker in the world (cough) but my heart is firmly in love with blogging and journalism.
In 2009, after several years of ill health I was diagnosed with Lupus and soon after that RA, which has left me pretty damn ill and with limited mobility. As frustrating as living with illnesses like this can be, I try my best to live life with a smile on my face whilst trying new things and whipping out my most dirty of jokes with little to no notice.
A Thrifty Mrs can't stand eggs, waste, Jamie Oliver, Top Gear, carnations, white square plates, lone gloves, owls, turning 30, cheap-o balsamic vinegar, Star Wars...
A Thrifty Mrs loves bootsales, yellow, polka dots, Nigella Lawson, converse, vintage clothes, Jersey Shore, mashed potato, washing drying on the line, gin, utility china, vintage suitcases, mustard, ankle boots, fairy lights strung everywhere, chorizo...
