Mr Thrifty loves a bargain as much as I do and I think he likes shopping second hand even more than me. He has recently picked up a few suits at Stockport’s Vintage Village and Ryan Vintage on Oldham Street here in Manchester. He actually has a near identical suit to the one pictured but he reasoned it fit so welll and was cut perfectly for him it would be silly not to invest in a second when he found this one last week.
Using the word ‘invest’ suggests perhaps he paid a large amount for this second hand suit when infact he picked it up in Sue Ryder for £5.99. As he moves further up the career ladder he is required to attend more meetings and events, so having a few suits in rotation is a real must. However shelling out for brand new suits doesn’t suit his budget or second hand ethos.Good quality work wear for men can really set you back, sure supermarkets and lower end shops sell suits but they rarely last and it isn’t very often that they look flattering. Second hand and vintage is well worth considering. He also managed to add to his vintage tie collection for a mere 15p each. Umm, how cool are they?Does the chap in your life embrace second hand or vintage? For that matter, do you?
