5 Inexpensive Marketplace Products Worth Buying at Ikea

ikea bargains

Some people think Ikea is all just a quick fix but I think a lot of their products are great value items no matter if they come from an expensive range or a cheaper line.

Here are 5 items worth picking up whilst strolling through the market place area, all under £10.

Worth buying at Ikea

Trojak 3 pack of scissors 80p here

These scissors seem to be a must have for almost everyone I know and it is with good reason. They are inexpensive, sturdy, well made and the three sizes are endlessly useful. We have a set in our garage, a set in our kitchen and I’ve just picked up another set for my study.

TEJN Faux sheepskin rug £10 here

You can’t beat this faux sheepskin rug. We keep it on the back of our sofa and our pooch pal snuggles up in it at night time. It washes well, doesn’t shed fluff or fuzz .

BASTIS Dog lead hook £2.25 here

This little dog hook lead is not only cute but it is really useful. It seems to be designed with extendable leads in mind because nearly every other hook etc. we have tried hasn’t been deep enough to hold the huge plastic moulding which comes with an extendable lead.

Telka Teatowel 35p here

These cheap as chips tea towels not only dry up a treat, they’re also useful for mopping up counter top spills etc. Best yet they come out of the washing machine peachy clean and looking new. I love the classic look of the design too, they’re not too fussy.

BESTAENDE Soap dispenser £4 here
These soap dispensers are seriously sturdy and unlike a number I’ve tried over the years the dispensing portion tends not to come loose or get clogged up very easily. We use these a number of ways around our house but one of my favourite uses is for washing up liquid because I can be prone to the oh so common ‘over squirt’. Fnar.

Some of  my other Ikea favourites under £10 include their tea lights, unscented candles, wrapping paper (especially when they stock huge rolls of brown paper), and these lamps which look lovely in white.

What are your must have Ikea items under £10? I’d love to hear about your sturdy and robust favourites.

  1. Sadly, I am only very rarely brave enough to visit Ikea, as it involves a big trek on the M25, which is my least favourite way to spend my day. However, when I do go, I love the Ikeas fabrics that are sold per metre. You can get some great fabric from just £1.50 per metre. I’m due a visit, I reckon

  3. Fab post – will have to look out for these on my next Ikea trip – especially the rug, so lovely.

  5. The marketplace is my downfall in IKEA – I always go a bit mad with my spending in there! I really like their cheese graters and their scented candles which are only around £1. Bargain!

  6. That’s funny! I needed a mystery present for a white elephant exchange (an American tradition where you wrap up the most bizarre items you can find for under about $5 and give them as gifts). It was a couples party, so both my husband I each needed one. I went and bought 4 or 5 of these dog butts in multiple colors and then I bought his and hers whisk broom sets in appropriate colors and wrapped them up. They were the hit of the party!
