Yup, I Mariah-ed the title.I don't know about you but Christmas music is a huge part of my Christmas memories. Certain songs bring back instant memories and hearing the first 'organic' radio play of Last Christmas scores a loud 'wahey' from my lungs year after year.
For the last few years, come December I've been playing festive tunes through the house via YouTube so I thought I'd put together a playlist or two to make it that bit easier.
All my favourite classic chart songs from years gone by.
I have a number of Christmas CDs but not one of them has all of the songs together, so this is the perfect solution. This year it will be forever looping in the background whilst I tap away on my laptop.
I love tat and kitsch however the reason for the season is never far from my mind. These carols warm my heart every time I hear them and more often than not they send a shiver down my spine.
I hope you enjoy them! What is your favourite Christmas song?
TTFN,
P.S. My favourite? It changes every year but I'm really loving Bing Crosby and David Bowie rocking out The Little Dummer Boy, ooh ooh or Jona Lewie Stop The Calvary.
P.P.S. Check back later for a brand new giveaway and don't forget to enter my Rio Sonicleanse giveaway which closes tomorrow.

My favourite Christmas song has to be Fairy tale of New York. Classic!
ReplyDeleteLove your playlists. You're so organised and I am the complete opposite! Shame on me :(
Yes! Love that Jona Lewie track! My favourite Christmas CD is from the 90s, called "That's Christmas". You can get it 2nd hand on Amazon for £3 (inc. P+P!) so I did! :D
ReplyDeleteAlthough it doesn't have the Pogues or newer stuff like Tom Jones's Baby It's Cold Outside, which are classics! Youtube playlists are the way forward! :D
My top christmas song, is not very christmasy at all, but was a christmas number one when I was a teen-ager. Don't You Want Me Baby by Human League takes me back to Christmas, first love, and being young and care free.
ReplyDeleteMy absolute favourite Christmas song is The Pogues - Fairytale of New York. I love, love, love it!!
ReplyDeleteGoing to listen to it now. Love the hymns too and stop the cavalry is a must. Funny how hearing some transports you back to a kid again

ReplyDeletenow that IS an epic playlist! my sister is always in charge of the music at our family christmases so I'll be running these tunes past her to make sure she's got them - cheers!
ReplyDeleteThis makes things so much easier for me :) I was going to have to hunt around for some music as I now have NO Christmas CDs :( Now I can blast away your playlist Sunday morning when I'm putting up my tree :)
ReplyDeleteAlways know Christmas is near when I hear Jona Lewie on the radio ... sadly, this year, I heard it on November 27th. Far too early - but still my equal no 1 Christmas song with Fairytale of New York
