Daily Housewifery Prompts (or #DHWP if you're feeling Twitter-y) had a well earned rest last week but are back in full force to remind you that doing small tasks around your home on a daily basis saves you from spending whole weekends cleaning.
Monday ---> Got any dead plants littering your home? Compost them, don't let them take up space.
Tuesday ---> Do you have a string of fairy lights somewhere in the house? Take them down and give them a good dusting before putting back up to light your home as we head into autumn and the evenings drawing in.
Wednesday ---> Deep clean your shower. Check back on Wednesday for more details.
Thursday ---> Got a cupboard or drawer full of carrier bags? Fold them neatly and store them in one carrier bag or get all crafty and make your own carrier bag storage type doo dah. I've pinned some here on my craft board over on Pinterest.
Friday ---> Do your much put off hand washing.
Saturday ---> Wash your sofa covers (if applicable.)
Sunday ---> Sort through any make up or beauty samples you have stashed. How long has that freebie from the hotel in Rome been languishing in the back? Chuck it.

I have leather sofas but will definitely give them a good clean on Saturday. Have got leather "shampoo" in the cupboard that I have never used!!
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to your post on deep cleaning the shower on Wednesday. Which is kind of sad, but I get my kicks where I can. My shower desperately needs a good scrubbing and your tips and tricks always help and give me the motivation I desperately need.

Am I the only one who breathes a sigh of relief if one day doesn't apply to me? Like today, I have no plants so I feel justified in doing shit all around the house all day haha!
ReplyDeleteNo Mrs D you are not the only one. This week there are only two that apply- this has never ever happened before!! I shall just clean my leather sofa and finish the shower - I did most of it last week (gave up for a glass of wine and a sit down - lol!!)

I am getting a new bathroom at the weekend. I may or may not use this as an excuse not to deep clean my leaky old shower... heheheh...

ReplyDeleteI will be following Wednesday and Saturday! I have no plants or fairy lights, I tidied my carriers yesterday, I have no handwashing (although maybe I do and just don't realise?!) and I tidied my freebies a while ago. Easy week for me ;)

I shall enjoy deep-cleaning my shower tomorrow as my son has his first ever pre-school sesh so I am child-free (aside from my giant 34-wk bump)Shall do monday's today... dead plants are on their way out (and the pots are going to the charity shop!)
