On the steps with magazines and peaches

Recently I've taken to sitting on the steps outside our flat with a magazine and a peach. It has quickly slipped into my morning routine and I feel all a-dither if the rain messes with my new found pleasure.

The magazine I've been reading over the past few days has been Wish. It's a magazine put together by  Carrie and Lucy. It's everything I've ever wanted in a magazine. First of all it is just bloody beautiful, the illustrations, the photography, layout, paper choice, cover - everything.

Topics cover fashion, DIYs, lifestyle, shopping, reviews and general chatter in articles - I'm highly impressed with the magazine as a whole. The styling and editorial reminds me of Lula, which has long been one of my favourites. It is honestly so, so beautiful the first time I sat down to read it I hardly read a word but rather flicked through the pages looking at the photographs, styling and whimsy illustrations. When I do that with a magazine I know I'm going be a fan, it's rare that it happens but when I does that particular magazine will get filed forever and not recycled.

When I did get round to reading Wish, rather than just drooling I found the content to be light but interesting, relevant and get this - they have stationery pages. Whole pages dedicated to stationery, there needs to be more of that in the world.

The magazine only has one sponsor in this first edition so it is lovely to sit in peace and devote time to flicking through the pages without being bombarded by advertising.

To be a cheeseball, I honestly couldn't wish (geddit, geddit?) for a better magazine to accompany me as I sit on the steps eating peaches.

P.S. Oh and you can buy Wish magazine here.

  1. How lovely! What a cute magazine, and you're totally right, I love flipping through things that aren't bombarded with adverts. I might have to adopt that morning routine especially while the weather is so nice.
