Check this shiz out folks. I’ve only gone and made a book, wahey!
Alright, alright it isn’t a proper book that you can buy in the shops n stuff but it is a book about my blog. It is a photo book and I luff it. Yes, luff, official luff not yet made legal by a registrar. I’d been thinking for a while that I spend so long working on my blog and doing
strange fun things, I should have some kind of physical, tangible representation of my adventures in blogging to show my great, great grandchildren when I’m old and creaky.
So many of us work so hard on our blogs, it seems odd one day we might not be as absorbed by it, or even with time slowly start to forget the fun little things involved in running a blog and our own adventure. I know it should be forever immortalised on these ‘ere interwebs but who knows if Blogger or even *gasp* Google will exist in fifty years when I’m 79? I’d thought about this on and off for six months or there abouts, so when Pixum the photobook company contacted me asking if I’d like to try out their photo books for free it seemed meant to be and time to take the plunge.
Making a book is pretty easy – and it doesn’t have to be a blog book it can be a book about any occasion or reason you fancy. All you do is head to the Pixum website choose the size of photo book – I picked a large square book with a hardcover – you want to make, then download their software and away you go.
You can add photographs to the pages, move them around, add text, themes, colours and more. Despite being scared of change and new-ness on my computer I got to grips with it in less than 15 minutes and it took me about an hour and a half to make the book once I’d decided which photographs to include.
The book arrived in under a week and I’m really chuffed with it. It feels good in my hands (am I the only one who is funny about the way books feel?), the print quality is good. The photos look great, they haven’t bled, smudged, pixilated or blurred and it smells really nice – mmmm new book smell. I’m super pleased with it, what do you think? Would you make a blog book? I’m also thinking of making a book featuring all the places Mr Thrifty and I have lived, we’ve moved around a lot since moving in together in 2005 so it may take some time!
If you’d like to win the chance to make your own photo book (worth £25) all you have to do is-
