I answer your charity shop questions

08/04/2012

Hey, hi and hello, I hope you're all having a lovely Easter? We're having a lovely time with friends and good food. Mr Thrifty made quite frankly amazing roast lamb but you don't want to hear about that, so on with the show.

Remember how I asked if you had any thrifty questions you needed help with in this post? Well I've had loads and loads and loads of questions sent my way. I'm slowly going through them to work out answers and putting them together into groups so I can answer them effectively in batches. Today I'm answering your questions about charity shops in the form of a video.

If the embedded video doesn't work you can click over to my youtube channel and watch it there. Hurrah!
I hope you like the video format. Don't worry the written posts are going nowhere and won't be losing their frequency but I thought the occasional video might be fun. I quite enjoyed making it and would be up for doing more so if you like it please do subscribe or comment over on youtube so I know if I should make some more or not.

TTFN,

P.S. I know how to rattle on, huh?

  8. Thanks for making the video, loving your work lol. I find the higher end shops you were talking about are increasingly filled with new household items. I know it is for charity and it may be fair-trade but its not what I am looking for.

  10. Love the vid thrifty! You have a lovely voice :)
That is interesting what you say about the two types of charity shops, I had thought about it before but you described it perfectly. There are a lot of high end 'chain' charity shops local to me, and not so many individual low end ones. Maybe that is why I am always wondering why the charity shops around here seem more expensive than the ones you shop in.

  11. Thanks for the video, it gave me loads of ideas!!!! I have just had to have clear out as the stuff was overtaking my house!!! But not anymore. Yupp the high end charity shops are getting to be a major joke now!!! I try to avoid them now if I can. But keep the good work up!!!

  13. Nice. So that's what you sound like! I am so nosey!!! :) I think you should rope in Mr Thrifty to pose you the questions and be your interviewer :) must be hard keeping everything you want to say in response in your head otherwise. But I enjoyed the vid and good tips as always ;)

  21. I love your one in one out system. I bought a lovely dress today from a second hand shop and a new top from a charity shop. Therefore, I think I should find a new home for two things I don't need anymore :) Thanks! x
