These past few weeks have been a strange few weather wise (certainly here in Manchester anyway) warm one minute, freezing cold the next. I've been keeping either a cardigan or scarf in my bag to sling on when the weather snaps from hot to warm.
Yesterday it all got too much and this scarf (a gift from Mr Thrifty a few years ago) wasn't quite cutting it, warmth wise, around my neck - so I tied the ends to each other and created a quick fix, slip on jacket. And I liked it.
//Socks - £1 Primark// Brown tights - £2 M&S// Maroon dress - 50p Primark via bootsale// Brogues - £12 Primark// Scarf - gift//
Great for the inbetween-y, between seasons, weather change.
What d'ya reckon?
How are you coping with the chop and change weather?
TTFN,
P.S. Always double check to see if your bra shows through your cheap-o dress. The shame, the shame.

Such a good idea, and the scarf is gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteI also always take a cardi and scarf, and a pair of extra socks!
The shawl/scarf looks great. I've got a couple of those, think I'll have to dig them out!

Oi! Thrifty! You are rocking them sockings!! Primark you say? Hmmmmm...
ReplyDeleteThat's an awesome idea. I have a whole pile of scarves like that. Great to have a new way to wear them! :) It is weird weather in manchester at the mo. I'm either freezing or sweating in my jacket.
ReplyDeleteLike all your posts, this one is creative, practical and nice to look at. Such an adorable outfit!
ReplyDeleteI love doing that! Nice, big scarves are perfect for everything. (That's how my Mom always wraps our presents- in scarves.) You look lovely!
ReplyDeleteI have that scarf! I used to hang it on the wall, i love the print! Now I use it as an alternative picnic blanket as it stuffs in bag easily!
ReplyDeleteYou look darn lovely!
xx
Your fat
ReplyDeleteAnon - I know.
ReplyDeleteLoving the Stevie Nicks action Mrs T xx
ReplyDeleteI agree with LandGirl1980 you are rocking them socks! And Anon... really?
ReplyDeleteLove it! As luck would have it I got two very similar scarves yesterday for 50p each from a charity shop :-)
ReplyDeletegood idea. Totally agree, the weather is madder than a box of frogs. Though it does feel decidedly on the cooler side here in East Anglia.
ReplyDeleteAnon: 'You are' is actually written you're - not 'your'. The apostrophe replaces the missing a. So: You're a bit uneducated....
ReplyDeleteYa know, whilst we are dishing out pointless trivialities...
My oh my, I am hearting those socks Thrifty!
ReplyDeleteAnon- comments from anyone not willing to disclose their identity are null and void, because you are wimpy! And also can't get to grips with grammar...'you're'.
xx
Anon : your point being?
ReplyDeleteMrs Thrifty : love the whole outfit! Looks like you had fun there.
I wish Anon would come back and finish his/her sentence... your fat WHAT? I can't deal with the suspense.
ReplyDeleteYou look wonderful here - I just LOVE that scarf and I swoon at the over the knee socks. So much awesome.
The grammar Nazi in me is laughing at Anon - hello? I love your over-the-knee socks - very cute.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea. I've got a few such scarves and will also give it a go. You're (see what I've done there, Anon?) right, the weather is pants.
ReplyDeleteAnon: Don't be so pathetic, how old are you?! Mrs Thrifty is not fat, and even if she was, what is your point exactly? We all love her just as she is. Oh, and you clearly need to go back to school. That is all.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this scarf thing.. As always Mrs T you look beautiful (and I can't tell which bit is underwear.... (it doesn't show clearly) so no shame there please!
ReplyDeleteFab idea, I now just need to find a scarf large enough to work, I only ever seem to buy tiny ones :(
ReplyDeleteYou look gorgeous! Loving the scarf/shrug thing you've created there. As usual, you pull it off with immense style and panache. And, I'm loving the stockings - do they come in other colours? Good for you for standing up to an ignorant cowardly bully.
ReplyDeleteOooh Thrifty, you look the business!
ReplyDeleteI love the oversize scarf. I'm not coping very well yet. I'll be ok when it's time to get my boots back on!xxx
Scarf looks great. This is why no outfit is complete without one, so much versatility!

I'm shocked that someone would write something so mean on someone's blog. I really am. Some people can be so hurtful. And ignorant. And arrogant. But, well people who can't type English properly with grammatical and spelling errors, wel they are just the worst!
ReplyDeleteHugs Mrs Thrifty. x
Oh anon can fuck right off.
