If you make these cookies your life will be better

Seriously, these choc chip cookies are good and they’re actually really, really easy. I blogged about them as part of my royal wedding food post and I promised I’d share the recipe. So here we are, eventually, I share with you the best choc chip cookies in the world. Ever.

What you will need -

100g butter
175g soft light brown sugar
1tbsp vanilla extract
150g plain flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp bicarb
A pinch of salt
1 Egg
25g cocoa powder
100g chocolate chips (either milk, dark or a mixture)
A small handful of mini marshmallows
2 tbsp of your favourite sprinkles (I’ve used dino sprinkles because I like to roll cretaceous style.)

Method -

1. Cream the sugar and butter together until well combined.
2. Add the egg and mix well.
3. Mix in the vanilla extract.
4. Slowly add the flour, mixing it it in as you add.

5. Add the bi carb, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder. Mix until it forms a good dough.
6. Add the choc chips, marshmallows and 1 tbsp of the sprinkles. Stir until well combined.
7. Place large wooden spoonfuls of the mixture around 5 inches apart on greased and lined baking trays.
8. Sprinkle half of the remaining sprinkles over the cookies and bake for around 10 mins at 190c.
9. Remove the cookies from the oven (they will be very soft), place the trays on cooling racks and sprinkle the remainder of the sprinkles over the top whilst they are soft. Add glitter if you’re feeling super kitsch.
10. Allow to harden slightly and scoff with a huge cup of milky coffee. Enjoy!

TTFN,

P.S. Yeah, nom in your face!

  19. They look gorgeous. I’m really fighting the urge to dash downstairs and bake some now but I must be good. I know I’d only eat the entire batch myself and that would be bad. Very, very bad.

  20. mmmm, delicious! Love the little heart spoon! Where did you find it? Hope it’s readily available, and not one of your marvellous thrifty finds….

  21. My daughter caught me reading your blog this morning and insisted we make these. She was gutted about not having dinosaur sprinkles, I will have to prder some from the ebay seller. She also decided that they were too good to be just cookies and re-named them chocolate rootie-tooties. Thanks for the recipe, they were great.

  22. Ha ha brilliant! Thanks for the link to the Dino sprinkles (my son Charlie will be eternally grateful too).

  31. I am very aware that this is a very old post but I felt like commenting anyway. My brother and I were having a prank war. He’d started it and I had my revenge. I was threatened with double revenge times eternity and to be honest, I was scared. But then I told him that if he attacked me he would get no cookies. It worked (there has been no attack yet, and everything seems peaceful)! Thank you for this recipe and sparing me a couple of water balloons to the face.

P.S. They come out massive! Maybe you could add it to the recipe? It’s not a bad thing, I could’ve just used a warning.

  32. Oh…. My…… Goodness….!!! My life is now instantky better! Just took a bite from the first cookie! I added a bit of white chocolate too btw….. Thank you for this recipe <3
