July? How on earth did we get to July already? How on earth? Where is time going to? Who stole 2011?
2011 hasn't be great for me, we've been forced to move house and seen my illness run out of control but I'm here, I'm alive and kicking and I'm feeling positive about it. So I thought I'd look back on what I've achieved in January, February, March, April, May and June.
* Celebrated 4 happy years of marriage.
* Took on more freelance work.
* Had a blissful weekend by the sea without thinking about work even once.
* Battled with the authorities about our nightmare neighbours, finally winning out and having them recognise that I was telling the truth about the hellish circumstances we were living under for a year. You can read about my nightmare neighbour situation here.
* Moving house in the middle of a lupus flare without breaking down.
* Went all DOT COM here at A Thrifty Mrs.
* Held a sale whilst in the middle of moving/lupus flare. I think I deserve a medal for that one.
* Completed couch to 5k.
* Hosted a (very messy) tea party photoshoot at my house without a complete meltdown.
What have you achieved so far in 2011? I urge you to do your own post (it feels good concentrating on the good stuff) and add them to the linky below (just under the P.S.) so we can all find them.
TTFN,
P.S. Take a little look at a thrilling (ahem) scene from Today at Thrifty Towers.

The last pic is so cute and it looks so cozy:)
ReplyDeleteThis is a Great post! Sounds like you are a strong woman and you should feel proud of yourself ; )
ReplyDeleteI usually do this instead of new year resolutions, it is nice to look back on good things isn't it. You've achieved a lot this year! x
ReplyDeleteLovely positive post! The last 8 months have been pretty crappy for me too so I think I might just take you up on this and do one of my own... Here's to brighter days ahead xx
ReplyDeleteI've only just discovered your lovely blog so this was the perfect post to get to know you better. I look forward to reading about the next 6 months!

Well done.
ReplyDeleteI'm in the middle of pre-acheiving (you know, planning but it hasn't happened yet) so don't want to mention anything in case I jinx it!
You've done brilliantly, a lesser person would have run screaming from just a couple of those major life events. I've started (and maintained) a blog, and people seem to be enjoying it so far...that was my major goal for 2011 and I guess I should remind myself to be pleased about it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! You've achieved heaps already this year. I'm a little in stasis at the moment - since my partner & I are living on one income not much is actually getting achieved. But by the end of the year we aim to have paid off our debts, moved into a nicer place, started growing most of our own vegetables & to have him earning enough that I can study photography. :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations you have achieved a damn site more than me! Sorry to hear about the Lupus flaring up during all of this that was not nice. Now sit down and have a rest

What a year you've had so far!
ReplyDeleteI've set a post up ready for tomorrow as I have to work covering the year so far. (great minds think alike!)
Shows what you can cope with when forced to. Well done on achieving all you have.

couch to 5k, hooray! i couldn't make it past week 4. :)
ReplyDeleteI agree with Lucy, this is a lovely positive post. I think far too often we forget to give ourselves a pat on the back/ big ourselves up when we've done something good! Well done for coming through the other side, hopefully stronger than ever!
ReplyDeleteI've just started reading your blog after a lovely comment you left on my River Island post a little while back (unfortuntely I've been on holiday so this is the first chance I've had to catch up on comments). Thank you very much for taking to the time to check out my little blog, I am already hooked on yours after just one visit -x-
Well done for focusing on the positives x
ReplyDeletePeckers are well and truly up in your corner, well done! My joints are playing merry hell with me at the moment - it really shouldn't hurt to weed the garden or brush your teeth should it? I can't even begin to imagine what it would be like to move house...hats off to you Mrs T! N x

ReplyDeleteIt definitely doesn't sound like it has been an easy year and I have thought the same about mine. Seems like you have a great perspective though :)

Wow, just got up to speed on your neighbour issues - MY GOD, that is appalling, I really don't blame you for moving - what an achievement to have got out of there! Love the idea of focussing on the positives, it can make such a difference when the proverbial hits the fan!
ReplyDeleteYou're right it feels good to look at what you have done, not what you haven't and you have done such a lot, under really difficult circumstances too.
ReplyDeleteSee you at xmas for a joint nervous breakdown ha!
This is such a fabulous idea to think positively about how much you've done this year! I always hate how when we look back we think about how quickly time has passed us by, forgetting how much we've fitted into that time.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you've had a year of battles, but ones that you've beaten. I only hope that the rest of this year will be a little easier for you. xxx
