That Teapot Lamp

This post may contain spoilers if you are yet to watch the 22/06/2011 episode of The Apprentice.

Are you a fan of the BBC’s yearly parade of the business world’s biggest rabble of losers, The Apprentice? Yeah? So you will have seen the teapot lamp that got Leon booted off The Apprentice. Ah how they sniggered at the teapot light but cripes, how I loved it. I’d seen it a while ago in a few interiors magazines but forgotten all about it and now I’m desperate for one but this damn flat has light fittings that I can’t muck around with pah!

Am I the only one who’d have bought one off them (whilst hating the very fibre of the contestants beings) in the blink of an eye? It is bee-uuu-tiiii-ful! The lamp is made by Original BTC here in England and I expect they’re highly in demand from teapot lovers across the country.

Have a little look at what is going on Today at Thrifty Towers.

TTFN,

P.S. I imagine you can check out that episode of The Apprentice on iPlayer.

  1. i thought i was the only one who liked it !!.. i was sat there saying to the tv “oh id buy that off you tom!”…it was so cute. might have to think about making one of my own!!!

  2. I liked it too and I liked the other lamps in the boutique shop they sold it to. It was a great episode. Tom’s ‘paper, scissors, stone’ admission has kept me smiling all week. xx

  3. I turned to my husband and said’I like that teapot’ He looked at me and said ‘Really’. I responded ‘Yes really – I think it would be nice hanging in our tiny kithen’. So your not alone :0)

  4. Wednesday is Apprentice night here, we LOVE and wouldn’t dream of missing it! I agree about the teapot, it is gorgeous but I would definitely have gone for the car seat as a project, Tom’s team were crazy to reject that!

  5. I thought it would sell quite well, it was perfect for those interior shops. I quite like it, even though I’m not the biggest fan of tea I appreciate the pot!

  6. Oui un lumiere de tasse du the!!

    Brilliant!

  7. I like it, but it’s damned expensive!!

  8. I don’t watch The Apprentice but I actually would have thought that something like this would have done quite well as teapots seem to be pretty prolific and cute and quirky. I think it’s quite sweet. xxx

  9. Oh I’d have one. I really like the bowler hat light fittings too.

  10. I’m so glad Tom survived to geek another day. But the lamp…?? I like it but not enough to pay for it. Teapots should have copious amounts of hot tea in them, not light!

Nah, just kidding. I think it’s a very witty and quintessentially English look.

  11. I loved it too! Told my husband he is to buy me one for Christmas! :)

  12. I love this design as well! Original BTC also does a cup and saucer desk lamp, as it’s free standing you won’t have the worry of having to attach it to the ceiling! They really are brilliant :)
