So here's the project I caught up on.
Weeks 6,7,8, 9, 10, 11 and 12. Crochet Squares.
It took me a while (poor sore fingers) and I was working at the rate of oooh about 3 a week or something. I was going to make a blanket with them but I have my mind set on something else which I'll show you when I get round to it. They're quite large in size and have used up a a chunk of scrap yarn that has been sitting around doing nothing for years. Now, I don't have grass in my garden and it's a bit on the pokey side, so I nipped to the park to take these photos. I attracted some funny looks, especially when I was balancing on one foot trying not to get my shadow in the shot.
I'd attracted quite a crowd after about three minutes. With cries of 'oi wool girl, wotcha doin'?' and similar fired left, right and centre, it appears da yoof of Manchester aren't down wid croc-it-ing. Perhaps I'll crochet something that can cover up the slice of pants they are so desperate to share with the general public when they wear them hanging half way down their arse.
TTFN,

The squares look fab! I crochet too, in between looking after my 3 daughters, and they would've taken ages. Can't wait to see what they will be made into xx
ReplyDeleteI love the impromptu art display and am curious now at what you are going to make. I think you have done very well. I know how sore my fingers get after a few rows never mind squares.
ReplyDeleteLovely squares! I will join the 52MMMC once I get my new oven, I have lots of recipes planned and that will help me along.
ReplyDeleteI'm just amazed you found a piece of park grass free of dog poo...
ReplyDeleteI am feeling very relaxed at not photographing and posting my makes, a bit too relaxed, almost falling over in fact.
Love those granny squares.

They hurt my poor fingers a great deal and yes it's hard to fit crocheting into life even though it is one of the more 'mobile' of crafts.
ReplyDeleteMrs C, we'll be glad to have you on board. Can't wait to see what you make.
Want a little personal challenge cupcakes? We both commit to posting the next three weeks worth of projects. What say ye?
ReplyDeleteLove the squares and I am now wondering what you are going to make with them. Love the colour combo's too.
ReplyDeleteMmmm crochet crack covers. I like it. You might have to send a couple down my way as my two very you daughters seem to unwittingly sports that look way too often! lol.

Hey you could get into that guerilla knitting thing - I'm not kiddin'- little old ladies who cover benches in knitting in the dead of night!! You know, like guerilla gardening on roundabouts. Start a new branch of guerilla!

Those look really awesome ! I love them.
ReplyDeleteAs a crochet-a-holic it is always nice to see what other fans of it have been up to :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I can commit to your hook-a-long as I have about a gazillion unfinished projects as it is... but I will def make a note to come back and see what you are up to!
It's nice to know I am not the only one who gets weird looks for taking crochet outside my front door :-)

haha hilarious!!! i can just imagine them hovering around you trying to figure out what you were doing!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your squares, well done for catching up. It's no wonder your fingers are sore.
ReplyDeleteI also love what you wrote about butt cracks. What is it with these people that insist on having there backside hanging out? It is far from attractive.
